Curve Inn Resort is located along the edge of the Peshtigo River State Forest on the banks of the High Falls Reservoir. Boaters can access more than 3,000 acres of water on High Falls and Caldron Falls Reservoirs from 15 public boat landings. High Falls and Caldron Falls Flowages have everything from pan fish to trophy muskies, northern pike, walleye and bass . Fishing is popular any time of year and the first full weekend in June is designated as Free Fishing Weekend throughout the state of Wisconsin.

This area is also well known for its excellent 5-mile stretch of fly-fishing just to the south of us on the Johnson Falls Flowage. In addition, there are over 400 smaller lakes and many miles of trout streams in Marinette county. Visit the DNR Website for more information on the various fishing seasons or to use their online licensing center.

Marinette County is the Waterfall Capitol of Wisconsin, with 14 major waterfalls inside it’s borders. Many are located within the Marinette County Parks. A Waterfall Map is available. The Peshtigo River offers scenic beauty and exciting whitewater rafting in class 3-4 rapids, the best in the Midwest.

Twin Bridge Park, just a mile from Curve Inn, is ideal for picnicking, boating and fishing, plus there is a sand beach for swimming on High Falls Flowage. There’s great scenic canoeing or kayaking in the region as well as hiking and biking trails, and a rustic road tour. Bring along binoculars and a camera to catch some of the abundant wildlife, including eagles, wild turkey, whitetail deer and black bear that roam the area.

Marinette County also offers a network of ATV trails, connecting to many adjoining counties as well as the UP of Michigan. Curve Inn Resort is a proud sponsor of the Woodland Trails ATV Club and you can take town roads a short distance to the Trail System with easy access.

Autumn brings the fall color show. The changes start in early September and continue through most of October. The forests become a wonderland of color and every country road becomes a scenic drive.

There are almost 200,000 acres of forest land in our area that is open to the public. Whether you use rifle, shotgun or bow, you owe it to yourself to try at least one season of hunting in our area. You can hunt deer, bear, grouse, turkey, waterfowl and small game on county land or in the nearby Nicolet National Forest. Visit the DNR Website for more information on hunting in Wisconsin.

Winter attractions include cross country ski trails nearby in the Peshtigo River State Forest and inside the Tommy Thompson State Park just a short distance from Curve Inn Resort. Other winter activities include snowmobile radar runs, fishing derbies and winter festivals held on many area lakes throughout the winter.

We are also right on the Iron Snowshoe snowmobile trails, and centrally located between the wild forests to the north and west, and the popular area trail-stops. The Iron Snowshoe Trails have been called the best kept secret in Wisconsin snowmobiling by the riders themselves.
